The Hellmann Logistics building, a striking development at Auckland International Airport, is not only an architectural landmark but also a showcase of sustainable landscaping. Located at the prominent corner of George Bolt Memorial Drive and Landing Drive, the site demanded a premium growing medium to support large-scale landscaping efforts.
Living Earth was commissioned by Natural Habitats to supply 1,300m³ of Puketutu Gold, a rich, aged compost blend renowned for its topsoil-like qualities and nutrient content. Sourced from our compost site in MÄngere, Puketutu Gold provided the perfect foundation for the project's extensive plantings.
The result? A beautifully rolling sea of flourishing New Zealand tussock that complements the building’s distinctive ‘floating wing’ design. Puketutu Gold’s balanced composition supports healthy plant growth, enhances soil structure, and retains moisture—making it an invaluable choice for premium commercial landscaping projects.
By integrating sustainable materials like Living Earth Puketutu Gold, the Hellmann Logistics building demonstrates how urban developments can enhance both form and function, creating enduring, eco-friendly landscapes.
